St. Mary’s School $3 Million Building Campaign!

St. Mary’s new addition
Student safety - enrollment growth - additional space for our religious education program - these are some of the areas that will be addressed by the $3 million capital campaign by St. Mary’s School.
The plans call for a classroom and office addition to be built on the west side of the building (see artist rendering). Some of highlights of the plan are:
- Creating a safe and secure entrance into the school for students and teachers. Offices will be located at the school’s entrance and will combine school and faith formation staff in a more collaborative work environment;
- Adding new classrooms for preschool and all-day kindergarten. These programs serve as key entry points to the school and their growth will provide strong enrollment for the future;
- Provide additional classroom space for our religious education program;
- Building a “traffic-free” outdoor play area for our students. Traffic flow in and out of the parking lot will be controlled, giving students a much safer outdoor play area;
- Continued improvements to our existing building, including health and safety upgrades.
The summer of 2009, the school spent $1 million renovating the building, replacing all the windows and remodeling most of the bathrooms. The money for that project came from the Seeds of Faith campaign. “We are very excited about these changes and how they have improved our school facility,” said Mary Hawkins, Principal.
“It is my sincerest hope that our community of supporters will find it in their hearts to meet this challenge of raising $3 million so that St. Mary’s School and our religious education program can continue to provide Catholic education to all of our students for generations to come.”
